Water Baby

During this school vacation (where did the week go by the way?) Lucy got another opportunity to go swimming with some of her friends from Kimmie's. The first time we went swimming there were initial tears and then she seemed to really enjoy the water ... this time not so much. We spent most of our time hanging around in our bathing suits poolside, rather than splashing around. The one time Lucy really seemed to like being in the water was with her friend Skyler, a water-lover great-swimmer and huge-fan-of-Lucy's, who tried to help Lucy get used to swimming. I think Lucy is lucky to have a friend like Skyler ... here Lucy is even wearing one of Skyler's old swimsuits!

Six Months

My mother suggested I take Lucy's picture once a month next to a stuffed animal to show the huge change in size this first year, as she did with me and a Raggedy Ann doll. Here Lucy is month by month next to a pink teddy her Grampy York brought her in the hospital. There is no birth picture with the teddy, we start at one month. Note in the last picture she and teddy have outgrown the bassinette of the pack-n-play for the photo.

We've been experimenting with some different foods, oatmeal, bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, squash, peaches, and there really doesn't seem to be anything that Lucy particularly likes. Sweet potato is hit or miss, sometimes she loves it, sometimes she acts as though you're trying to poison her. Here she is trying out the peaches.
