Got Milk?

We started yogurt this morning. It was a hit with the 7-month-old crowd at King St.

On the Move

It won't be long before Lucy, the impatient, dissatisfied baby, is on the move. She has started to push herself up on her hands and will scoot backwards as she does this, though is yet to start to pull herself forward. Once she realizes she can reach what she wants by crawling, watch out world.

Party People

Lucy and I spent the weekend at Grandma's because Eric was in San Francisco for a conference, and decided that Lucy is a party girl. She doesn't want to miss a thing, and spent most of the weekend hanging out with the fam, laughing and playing.

Getting a bath in Grandma's kitchen sink. NOT our favorite activity.

Playing on the floor looked like so much fun Shorty had to join her.

And who says Lucy doesn't look like my side of the family??

Cousins

Here is Lucy with her cousin Lennon, just 5 days younger than she is ....

... and with Mammy York too. Lucky grammy she is!

Learning

It's almost as if I can watch the wheels turning in her brain while she makes new connections and processes her surroundings. It seems as though she's starting to get the cause-effect relationship ... looking for toys on the floor that she dropped, pushing buttons on toys to make the sounds, etc. Well, Lucy learned something else new today. Here she is in her exersaucer peeking around the toy bar to get a better look at her mommy. Darn toys were just right in the way!

Big Girl

We knew it was coming, but this past week Lucy started sitting up by herself. Grandma's theory was that we simply needed to chisel a flat spot on her bum. Her balance is decent, though she will topple over if she gets excited. She loves to stand so much the problem is getting her to bend in half to actually get her backside on the floor; generally she'll just try to stand up. Here she is sitting alone and also "walking" with Grandma. She really moves her feet as if she's walking along!
